I'M OUT!

 


I have news: After 10,000 hours of broadcasting in London, I am relocating to Birmingham… to broadcast some more LOL. 

This decision wasn’t a light one. 

I realised about two years ago that I couldn’t stay in London. The cost of living is absolutely insane. And I mean insane. It was costing me £15 per day in Congestion Charges (which just went up to £18 even), £8 per day Blackwall Tunnel Charges and £25 per day parking charges - just to get to work. 

That’s nearly £50 a time just to get to my job, and a similar cost to get to Octaves also, it was no longer sustainable. And no there wasn’t a simple ‘Just get the train’ solution, for reasons that are currently a criminal investigation but that I will write about when I’m allowed. 

I’m an action babe, I see a problem, and I go about fixing it, so I started the process of relocating, to Dubai funnily enough. Took my son there last year to sort an apartment, to show him around, lined up jobs etc and was going to do the full move Feb 2026. 

It wasn’t just the cost of living though, it was also the quality of life, the commute, my sons school (another story for another day) and generally wanting something new. 

When it was time to hand in my notice, the BBC had other plans lol, and honestly bless him and big them up, because I had a problem, and they fixed it, and to be honest after 11 years of solid service - I hear dem!

So I’m on my way out of the big LDN, into my second home – Brum, to continue my broadcasting journey, but this time it will be Monday – Friday, 1-4pm, and the show will come from the Brum HQ instead of the London HQ.

And yes… 

 


Octaves is coming with me lol.

An Insert.

Okay before I even get into the next chapter, a very particular point has been made to me about this. So I’ll do the disclaimer early on so that we’re all clear.   My story isn’t about Vengeance, it is about Testimony. Vengeance is about repaying harm, Testimony is about releasing truth.   When God says “Vengeance is mine” in Romans 12:19, he is talking about retaliation - the desire to punish, destroy or ‘get even’.   “He’s getting married!!” She blurted out across the table. I’m only half listening, because why hasn’t he text me or called?  “They came over and asked him if he was single, and told him he’s my type. He smiled but said he’s actually engaged”.
